gbpartnerships foundation is delighted to announce their support for Leapgate Activity Centre in Stourport, a charity providing much needed support to adults with learning disabilities.
The charity was nominated for funding from the gbpartnerships foundation by the Patient Participation Group at the Stourport Medical Centre, which opened earlier this summer. gbpartnerships worked on the business case and then as development partner oversaw the construction of the new medical centre which replaced two of the town's doctors' surgeries that were outdated and no longer fit for purpose.
Donna Davies from Stourport Medical Centre commented:
“Leapgate Activity Centre are doing an excellent job of helping adults with special needs to learn, grow and achieve by providing meaningful activities in a stimulating, safe and social environment. I am thrilled that gbpartnerships are supporting their work, which is making such a big difference to the local community.”

Michele Handley from Leapgate Activity Centre commented:
“We are extremely grateful for this donation from gbpartnerships foundation. The funding will go towards the development of a small animal care area, making it easier for those with physical difficulties to access especially in the winter when outside conditions are not favourable for wheelchair and the less mobile. The therapeutic benefits of handling small animals are huge for all with a learning difficulty, particularly for those on the autistic spectrum. The area provides a space where attendees have a sense of responsibility and can increase their self-confidence whilst having fun learning about the rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals.”
As part of the gbpartnerships group commitment to improving the lives of people living in the communities in which we work by providing funding and support for charities and community projects through the gbpartnerships foundation. By donating funds, we take the extra step of re-investing a portion of our profits into initiatives which enhance quality of life at a local level.
