Cape Community Day Centre in Birmingham is led and run by a strong BAME volunteer team who bring vulnerable beneficiaries from migrant communities together. The majority have a mental and/or a physical disability and are aged between 72 and 97. Most of whom are frail, vulnerable, isolated, with the majority living alone and have no family members to support.
The funding from the gbpFoundation will support the continuation of a telephone befriending service that was established in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The service will offer friendship building, mental stimulation and encouragement to stay active.
