Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC’s) are transforming how patients access and receive care closer to home. As with many health services, COVID-19 has resulted in increased pressures on diagnostic services, creating the need for radical change to improve services, patient outcomes and cope with the huge increase in demand.
gbpartnerships' expert and dedicated teams have been supporting the NHS in the planning and delivery for some of the first 40 CDC’s opening across England. The centres are part of a national NHS England and NHS Improvement’s programme to help accelerate recovery from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on routine diagnostic testing.
How to plan a CDC: gbp’s Estate Planning Process.
The new centres, such as the one at Finchley Memorial Hospital, will increase NHS diagnostic capacity and make it easier for people to access services in their community. Finchley Memorial Hospital CDC was one of the first sites in the UK to begin providing services in this new and innovative way and has grown from a single mobile CT scanner to now include a mobile MRI scanner and two non-obstetric ultrasound machines.
