This Christmas, the gbpfoundation is making a range of donations to good causes and charities that are close to the hearts of our staff.
On the fourth day of Christmas giving, the gbpfoundation donated £250 towards a bereavement room at Whiston Hospital in Liverpool. The project was nominated by Steve Lennon, gbpartnerships Analyst. Steve explains what the funding means to him and his family:
“In 2013 my cousin unfortunately had a still birth baby, after 41 weeks, caused by a blood clot that had burst. The baby died instantly at Whiston Hospital in Liverpool. My cousin is still close with the hospital and has been raising money to help fund a bereavement room at Whiston. The hope is that the bereavement room will provide a comfortable, non-clinical environment for families who have a similar experience, making this traumatic time as comfortable an experience as possible.”
