We are immensely proud to be part of the North London Estate Partnerships PPP team named as finalists in the HealthInvestor Awards 2023 Public Private Partnership category, for work delivering the Finchley Memorial Hospital Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC).
North London Estate Partnerships worked closely with North Central London - Integrated Care System, Community Health Partnerships, Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and gbpartnerships' manage and consult businesses to deliver one of the first NHS specialist diagnostic centres to open following the COVID-19 pandemic. Finchley Memorial Hospital was identified as a preferred location for the new CDC due to its potential to deliver significant additional diagnostic capacity at pace. By operating out of an established locally accessible and flexible NHS facility, the PPP project team was able to deliver significant additional diagnostic capacity quickly, enabling the first patients to be seen within three months of the successful bid submission, and 50,000 new patients seen in the first year. Strong partnership working, delivery, capability and flexibility of existing estate have been critical factors in overcoming challenges and successfully delivering the CDC. Using a blend of in-house NHS delivery capability and access to a pre-procured supply chain, the partnership was able to deliver the necessary adaptations at speed. The additional benefit of using the PPP is the local knowledge of the building and ongoing maintenance responsibility.
