Increasing the reach of the gbpartnerships foundation

Updated: May 13, 2022

2021-22 was a significant year for the gbpartnerships foundation and one that saw a step change in its reach, with the administration and management of the funding process moved ‘in-house’. This enabled the gbp foundation to support more good causes and communities across a wider geographical footprint, increasing it's reach and maximising the benefits to local communities in which we work.

At the start of the 2021022 financial year, the ambitions to grow the reach of the gbpartnerships foundation received a huge boost, with a generous donation of £25,000 from the gbpartnerships group. Since it was established in 2019 the foundation has donated over £75,000 to a wide variety of good causes and reached over 100,000 people with it's support. The attached Annual Report (below) provides the highlights of where financial and other support has been put to good use over the past year. Activities were diverse and far reaching, including:

  • A year long charity partnership with the Sea Cadets and support for their ‘On the Water’ programme, held in Liverpool, Birmingham and London across the summer.

  • Support for Space Youth Service in Devon, funding from the gbp foundation has been used across eight of Space’s youth centres and Chances Alternative Education School (in Dawlish).

  • Funding for two new kayaks for 2nd Durrington Sea Scouts in West Sussex.

  • Funding to support improvements in well-being and mental health for African Caribbean communities in Wolverhampton.

  • A donation to Willowbrook Hospice, in the memory of a special friendship, to support for improvements to the in-patient accommodation at the Hospice.

  • Support for Kidderminster based cycling charity, Open Trail.

  • The gbp staff team worked together in a range of fundraising challenges and raised an impressive £5,111 for three charities: Samaritans, Cancer Research UK and Terence Higgins Trust. We also grateful to all those who donated, including corporate donations from Walker Cotter Safety, Peter Breeds, Bellrock and Kier.

  • Baby Aid Birmingham were the chosen charity for the gbp staff social gathering in September and the generous gbp staff team came together with a mammoth collection for the charity.

"A huge thank you to all of our staff, partners and suppliers who got involved, it just goes to show what can be achieved by working together."
