It’s day 10 of gbp’s 13 Days of Christmas Giving, and today we shine a spotlight on the incredible work of Holbrooks Community Care Association, Warm Safe Spaces project, who are making a meaningful difference in Coventry.
Holbrooks Community Care Association (HCCA's) provides Warm Safe Spaces for the community, offering a welcoming and comfortable environment for residents to relax, connect, and access support. These spaces are designed to combat isolation, provide warmth during colder months to those who are worried about the increased cost of living crisis, and serve as hubs for social interaction, activities, and community engagement. Equipped with cozy seating, refreshments, and friendly staff or volunteers, they embody HCCA's commitment to supporting well-being and giving a sense of belonging. The tireless efforts of Holbrooks Warm Spaces to provide a welcoming environment for those in need during these colder months caught the attention of Jane Batchelor, gbp's Head of Marketing & Communications, who nominated them for a gbp Foundation Christmas donation. She said:
"I nominated Holbrooks Warm Spaces for a gbp Foundation Christmas donation because their work embodies the true meaning of community. HCCA provide not just warmth, but a sense of belonging and support to those who need it most during the winter months. It’s inspiring to see the difference they’re making in people’s lives, and I wanted to ensure their incredible efforts are recognised and supported. The gbp foundation donation will be matched by the Aviva Community Fund and enable HCCA to do bigger and better things with the warm safe spaces, including opening longer hours and providing better activities for the users "
At gbp, we’re proud to back organisations like HCCA that play such a vital role in their communities. Stay tuned as we continue our 13 Days of Christmas Giving, celebrating the true spirit of giving back!
