Today marks the final day of gbp’s 13 Days of Christmas Giving. Throughout this initiative, we have highlighted a range of charities and good causes that hold special significance for our team members. Each of these organisations has received a Christmas donation from the gbp foundation as a gesture of support and gratitude for their impactful work. On this 13th day, we turn our attention to HUGS, a small yet impactful group based in Worcestershire. HUGS provides invaluable support to individuals and families coping with the loss of a baby—whether it’s their own child, a grandchild, or a close family member. The organisation offers support meetings, memory boxes for bereaved parents, and a variety of therapy services to help those in need during their most challenging moments.
This deeply meaningful cause was nominated for a Christmas donation by Jamie Phillipson, Financial Controller at gbp manage. Jamie shared his personal connection to HUGS and the support they offer:
“Recently my wife Hannah suffered a miscarriage, it was a hard time for us both, and when we found out the nurse gave us a small bag which contained a memory bear and candle along with support notes from HUGS. This small but kind gesture, at times that are very hard for people, provides them with comfort and shows that there is support out there for people who sadly lose their baby throughout any stage of pregnancy.”
HUGS’ commitment to providing comfort and solace in times of profound loss is a testament to the power of compassion and community. Together, we can make a difference.
