This Christmas the gbp foundation is making donations to 12 good causes and charities that are close to the hearts of our staff.
On the eighth day of gbp’s 12 days of Christmas giving, a donation of £200 is on its way to Pendeford Seventh Day Adventist church, a small church in Wolverhampton with big ambitions for supporting the local community.
gbp’s Group Services Administrator, Rose Taylor, nominated the cause for donation as it provides invaluable support for the local community. Pendeford is a community with high levels of deprivation and above average levels of unemployment, so the current economic crisis has hit hard.
Rose commented:
“As a small church, the resources are very limited so this donation will enable us to do something we would not otherwise be able to do this year. Clearly it will provide not just food but encouragement and good cheer to struggling families.”
Previously a donation from gbpartnerships enabled the Church to provide food hampers to needy families. This Christmas the need is even greater as more families struggle to provide a daily cooked meal. The donation given from the 12 days of Christmas giving will enable the church to give a food package to families that need it.
We hope that the donation makes a difference to those in need at this time of year.
