gbp’s 12 days of Christmas Giving...

This Christmas, the gbp foundation is making donations to 12 good causes and charities that are close to the hearts of our staff.

On the sixth day of gbp’s 12 days of Christmas giving, a donation of £200 is on its way to the Pearl Exchange in Bude, Cornwall, a relaxed, artistic hub offering inspiring creative and practical workshops with open access facilities and a space to meet and build friendships and connections.

gbp’s Group Business Development Director, Hugh Robinson, nominated the cause for a donation, commenting:

“My eldest attends a brilliant writing group there and the work they are doing to support 18–30 year-olds in north Cornwall is a fantastic force for good.”

The Pearl Exchange curates free programmes of workshops, talks and courses open to anyone aged 18-30 in creative and practical skills, arts and enterprise. Their long-term aim is to reduce isolation issues, increase cultural experience, raise employability skills, improve mental health and resilience leading to more opportunities and a better quality of life.

The Exchange also gives young people access to free professional counselling sessions without long waiting lists to improve mental health and resilience.

The donation from the gbp foundation will go towards supporting the Pearl Exhange’s free creative programme and counselling for young people. We hope that that the donation makes a difference to those in need at this time of year.
